Bonnie Mengel

MENGEL, Bonnie Jean - age 88, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Mrs. Mengel was born October 6, 1925 in Antigo, WI, the daughter of Fred and Violet (Arrand) Hewitt. She was a 1943 graduate of Flint Central High School and married Robert G. Mengel on June 1, 1945 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Mengel and her daughter, Claudia owned Baskets Plus for 26 years and enjoyed working with her customers on a daily basis. Surviving are: two daughters, Claudia and husband, Dennis Karas of Grand Blanc, Linda and husband, James Ketner of Fenton; two grandchildren, Scott Masterson and Ryan Masterson and wife, Amy; three great-grandchildren, Rilee, Connor, Violet Masterson; many special friends also survive. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert G. Mengel; son, Robert F. Mengel and her parents. The family extends a special thank you to Drs.
