Billy J Walters

WALTERS, Billy J. - age 89, of Clayton Twp, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Private services will be held to honor her life and legacy.

Billy was born on December 17, 1933 in Sikeston, MO to her parents Archibald and Nettie Lou Freed. On October 16, 1954, she married the love of her life, Ernest Walters. Throughout her life, Billy worked at General Motors for 12 years.

Billy had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She had a passion for the outdoors and loved nothing more than hunting and fishing. However, her true calling was caring for others. Billy selflessly dedicated her time as a hospital volunteer and made a lasting impact on the lives of those she helped.

Not only did Billy have a heart for giving back to her community, but she also shared her wisdom and knowledge through teaching Tai Chi and Water Aerobics for many years. Her dedication to promoting good health and wellness was truly inspiring.

Billy's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Ernest Walters; their son Anthony Walters; their daughter Sandra (Matthew) Crawley; grandchildren Justin Burgess, Derek Beemer, and Sheldon Beemer; as well as one precious great-grandson, Austin.

Billy was preceded in death by her parents Archibald and Nettie Lou Freed and ten beloved siblings who have gone before her.

The family has entrusted arrangements to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, located at 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
