Billy Smith

Billy Joe Smith, age 62, of Flint. Passed away Friday, March 29th in Flint. In accordance with Billy's wishes cremation has taken place. A family memorial gathering will be planned by his family at a later date. Billy was born in 1956 in Kentucky and later moved with his adoptive father Wayne Dean and Vestie to Flint, Michigan. Billy was an accomplished certified mechanic from then Genesee County Area Skill Center, and worked in various mechanic and bodyshop roles in the Flint area thereafter. He married the love of his life Barbara Johnson and settled down to raise a family in Flint, Mi. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors, tinkering with engines and repairing things around the house. He also loved to play the guitar and play with his cats and birds over the years. Billy was a natural mechanic that could fix almost anything. Left to cherish his memory are, son, Douglas (Meaghn) Smith; daughter, Lynn (Daniel) Burgess. Ten Grandchildren: Cheyenne, Aubrey, Hailey, Daniel, Madison, Gracie, Lily, Gabrielle, Jeremiah, and Caleb. His brother Glenn Smith (Leisa) Sister Rhonda, Neieces Sherrie, Jackelyn, Amanda and many other family members and friends.
