Beemon, Billy DeLoss. - Age 86, of Flint passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Independence Village in Petoskey. He was born in Flint on January 1, 1924 to Earl and Vera Beemon. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A family memorial will take place at a later date. He married Clara Schuyler in St. Louis, MO in 1943. He loved music, sports, traveling, politics, and hobbies. He was in the CCC's, served in World War II as a medic, and in the National Guard. He retired from Buick Retail dealership after 30 years as a mechanic. He was president of Buick Local #741 and a member of UAW Local #599. He was active in civil rights, progressive democrats, AARP, civic affairs, and Move On. Surviving are: wife, Clara; 3 children, Denise McCutcheon (Ted) of Walloon Lake, Karen Bond (John) of Grand Blanc, and Richard Beemon (Joann) of Charlevoix; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister Donna (Robert) Bennett. He was preceded in death by: son Douglas in 1952, 4 sisters, Emily Sanders, Barbara Surbrook, Sally Sherwood, and Peggy Ranville. Thanks to Hospice of Little Traverse Bay for their support.
