McKenna, Beverly J. - age 87 of Fenton, passed away on December 8, 2024 after a sudden illness. In accordance with Beverly's wishes, she will be cremated and no service will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Keith, and son, Michael, at Glenwood Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bev to the Salvation Army (www.centralusa.salvationarmy.org) or to the Genesee County Humane Society (www.geneseehumane.org).

Bev was born on July 9, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Melville and Hilda (Plumb) Monk. She graduated from Flint Central and married her high school sweetheart, Keith McKenna, on December 29, 1956. She and Keith raised their four children before Bev began a career in real estate. In addition, Bev was committed to community service, always thinking of others. She served as President of the Fenton School Board, President of the Fenton Band Boosters, Advisory Board Member for the Flint Salvation Army, Member of the Fenton Township Board of Review, Member of Friends of the Library and President of the Residence Board at Vicinia Gardens. 

Bev and Keith were ardent travelers, visiting many countries around the world. They loved immersing themselves in the local culture and in fact lived in Spain during several cold Michigan winters. They often included their children and grandchildren on trips inspiring a love of travel in them all.

Bev's love for lake living, music, art, and cooking was passed down through the generations. Her family gathered every summer and holiday season for fun on the lake, games around the dining room table and amazing meals. 

Surviving are her children, Sandra (James) Butler of Newport News, Virginia; Karen (Scott) Everingham of Livonia, Michigan; Rick (Germaine) McKenna of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Grandchildren, Chris (Laura Pall) Butler; Lynn (Chris) McKenna Dowden; Cole (Lauren) McKenna; Christine Everingham; Hailey (Jared) Brandau, Victoria (Scott) Peltier and Ashton Robertson. Great-great-grandchildren, Colin Dowden; Sophie Dowden; Keira Linares. Siblings, Shirlee (Bob) DeBarr; Bob (Barb) Monk. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and friends.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son, Michael; Brother, Rick Monk.
