Beverly Maurer

MAURER, Beverly E. - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died November 27, 2018. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM until the time of mass Tuesday at St. Robert. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church or National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Beverly was born April 17, 1929 in Flint, the daughter of Ernest and Josephine (Benz) Cormier. She was married to Richard D. Maurer on May 3, 1952 in Flint; he preceded her in death on January 1, 2007. Beverly was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. She had been employed by Fenton Township. Beverly loved gardening, cooking and baking; she was the consummate homemaker. Her specialty was kindness and generosity. She was a meticulous hostess and her family was the light of her life. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Sherry) Maurer, Timothy (Bethany) Maurer, Kathryn (Shane) Gruett; grandchildren, Amber (Shandon) Claspell, Aaron (Alma) Maurer, Joseph Dodge; great-grandchildren, Royce and Emma Claspell, David Muso; step-grandchildren, Eric (Krista) Gruett, Kristin (Tyler) Saxton; step great-granddaughters, Brynn, Brystal and Raegan. Beverly was also preceded in death by her parents. The family extends thanks and gratitude to the staff of Hurley Hospital 9th floor and Neuro ICU and Heart to Heart Hospice, for their loving care.
