WRAY, Betty Jo, age 71, of Burton, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Genesys Health Park. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at South Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church, G-1467 E. Maple Ave, Burton. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Saturday and 12-2 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the South Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church Disaster Relief Fund. Betty was born September 27, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia the daughter of the late John Clyde and Beulah Mae (Gallaher) Morton. She married Joe Ellis Wray on May 8, 1958 in West Virginia and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2003. Betty was employed by Social Security until her retirement after 24 years of service. She was also a member of South Flint Seventh Day Adventist Church. Betty volunteered at Morgan's Early Learning Center for 13 years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, puzzles and visiting the gun range. She loved to cook and was a dog lover. Surviving are her daughter, Connie Shoemaker of Huntington, WV; son, Ronald Wray (Susan) of Grand Blanc; 5 grandchildren, Christina Wray, Jennifer Shoemaker, Tara, Garett (Miranda) and Maegan Wray; great-granddaughter, Madison Wray; sister, Linda Persun (John) of Ona, WV; brother, Gene Watts (Bobbie) of Huntington, WV; special friends, Beth and Heather Hartle and Karen Sweger. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Shelby Watts, 3 brothers, Carl Morton, Chester Watts and Bill Watts; aunt, Alma Fowler; and her dog, Pee Wee.
