Betty Jane Stoltenberg

October 13, 1922 — February 20, 2006

STOLTENBERG, Betty Jane  Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, February 20, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Allen Suddmann officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday and Wednesday and from 10 AM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the Penrickton Center for Blind Children. Mrs. Stoltenberg was born October 13, 1922 in Swartz Creek, the daughter of Loren and Mabel (Bigelow) Ketzler. She married Donald I. Stoltenberg on May 1946. Mrs. Stoltenberg retired from Swartz Creek Schools in 1988 where she had been a bus driver for 33 years, 15 years of which she drove for Special Education children. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was a Childrens Coordinator and Sunday School Superintendent. Mrs. Stoltenberg was also active in the United Methodist Women where she served as Treasurer for the Flint District. Surviving are: husband, Donald of Swartz Creek; three sons, Ronald (Cyndy) Stoltenberg of Birch Run, Thomas Stoltenberg of Swartz Creek, Richard (Jerilynn) Carr of Grand Blanc; eight grandchildren, Ronald (Kim) Stoltenberg of Fenton; Jeff (Sondra) Stoltenberg of Clio, Amy (Frank) Comito of Macomb, Jason (Jody) Stoltenberg of Midland, Holly Ann (Donald) Ellis of Birch Run, Brent (Heather) Stoltenberg of FL, Chad (Nikki) Stoltenberg of Grand Blanc, Lena Stoltenberg of Birch Run; 15 great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Matt and Wendy Carr, Josh, Drake, and Lauren Carr, Rich (Angie) Carr, Joy Carr (Tom) Kuhn, Carl Armstead; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends; her friends in the Alumni Club and her dear colleagues from her monthly meetings at OTooles.
