Betty Staroba

Staroba, Betty Jane - Age 93, of Grand Blanc, died December 5, 2016. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Friday, December 9th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Thursday with a Vigil service at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint, and visitation one hour before the funeral mass at the church on Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church. Betty was born July 7, 1923 in Flint the daughter of Dewey and Ella (Smith) Jones. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She married Jerry Staroba in February 16, 1941 in Flint; he preceded her in death December 22, 1992. Betty retired from GM as an inspector in 1981 with 30 years of service. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Joseph Guild, UAW Local 659 and the Red Hat Society. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to 4 generations. Surviving are: fours sons, Bud Staroba of Los Angeles, CA, Ronald Staroba (Linda Ohler) of Naples, FL, Paul Staroba (Debra Springsteen) of Grand Blanc, Gary Staroba of Flint; daughter-in-law Vickie Staroba; very special friend Wendy Staroba; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Arrand, Pauline Hodson, Margaret Welker; several nieces and nephews.
