Betty Lynn Macdonell

MACDONELL, Betty Lynn- Age 76, of Burton, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Genesys Health Park.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Jerry F. Locher officiating.  Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 4-8 PM and Sunday from 1-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contribution to Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 5069 Fairchild, Swartz Creek, MI  48473.  Betty was born April 30, 1931 in Mt. Morris Township, the daughter of William N. and Lydia (Kiehna) Watkins. She married Alan E. Macdonell August 26, 1950 in Angola, IN.  She retired from Meijer.  She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Swartz Creek.  She enjoyed knitting, Lapidary, ceramics, playing the organ, gardening, collecting elephants and traveling with her husband.  Surviving are: husband, Alan; 3 children, Lana and husband James LaLonde of Waterville, OH, Debbie Johnson of Swartz Creek, David and wife Lola Macdonell of Traverse City; grandchildren, Stacy, Kelly (Scott), Jeff, Chris (Jill), Tony, Greg (Shawna); great grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Justin, Kailey, Evan, Erynn, Lucas; sister, Esther Warzynski; her cat,Princess.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herman "Speed" Schroeder.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Genesys Health Park intensive care unit and to Tim and Tammy Asbury.
