Betty Lyons

LYONS, Betty R. - age 83, of Flint, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 16 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 12-8 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to American Diabetes Association and American Foundation for the Blind. Mrs. Lyons was born January 21, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of John Henry and Hessie Mae (Martin) Bibb. She married James M. Lyons on May 27, 1950 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1984. She worked for GM Parts for 30 plus years. Betty loved sewing and quilting. Mrs. Lyons is survived by two sons, James W. Lyons of Birch Run and R. Stephen Lyons of Flint; grandchildren, Chad and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Deanna, Zane and Karley; sister, Sandy Stroeber. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Chuck and Doc Bibb.
