Betty Johnson

JOHNSON, Betty Louise - age 90, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, April 15, 2019. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will also be held 1 PM - 2 PM Saturday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church Ruth Circle or Pastie Group. Betty was born August 12, 1928 in Mundy Township, the daughter of George and Orilla (Muchler) Dart. She married Donald Johnson on August 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1991. Betty was an active member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener, loved nature, birds, and especially her grandchildren. Surviving are: three sons, Ronald (Catherine) Johnson of Fredrick, MD, Charles (Kathryn) Johnson of Vassar, and Roger (Barbara) Johnson of Gettysburg, PA; four daughters, Sharon (Ralph) Estep-Limban of Swartz Creek, Virginia (Quentin) Cromwell of Swartz Creek, Diane (Jeffrey) Turnbull of Birch Run, and Mary (Tim) Talhelm of Flushing; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Harold (Wanda) Dart, Ralph (Pamela) Dart, Kenny (Norma Jane) Dart, Duane Dart, Russell (Carol) Dart, Gladys (Jerry) Merkle, and Joann (Jim) Wakeman. She was also preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert and Donald Dart; two sisters, Shirley Dart and Dorothy Wolfe; son-in-law, John Estep; grandson, Richard Yoshida.
