HORNECKER, Betty Jean - Age 76, of Fenton, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 31, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1-3 and 5-8 PM. Burial in Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Hornecker was born September 8, 1932 in Newland, NC, the daughter of Roscoe and Ella (Miller) Pritchard. She married Clarence Lee Hornecker May 16, 1967 in Detroit and he preceded her in death January 11, 1985. She had been employed by the Salvation Army for 15 years, retiring in 1988. Surviving are: 5 children, Larry (Diane) Bell of Fenton, Billy (Sheri) Bell of San Diego, CA, Linda Mraz of Sachse, TX, Brenda Frontier of Eastpointe and Ellen (Michael) Katona of Dearborn Heights; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons; 2 sisters, Ruth Sparks of Virginia and Louise (Bill) Gates of Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
