Betty Hoose

January 28, 1931 — December 30, 2020

HOOSE, Betty Effie - age 89, of Gaines, formerly of Cadillac, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020.   A graveside service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Gardner Cemetery.   A memorial service will be scheduled later in 2021, with further details to come.  Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430.

Betty was born January 28, 1931 in Fenton, MI, the daughter of Wesley and Marie Brower.  She married her high school sweetheart, Rev. Milton Hoose on July 22, 1950 in Fenton.  Betty worked alongside her husband, Rev. Milton Hoose in ministry for 52 years in the Church of the Nazarene.  She always lived a Christian life and was a true example and a blessing to all who knew her.  Betty will always be remembered for her caring heart, she was happiest when serving others.   She loved to cook and share her home cooked meals with family & friends, she made the best pies.   Betty loved writing and her handwritten books are full of stories of her life.  She loved planning family outings, birthday dinners, camp for the grandkids during the summers, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations with her family, always making our time together special.   She will be missed; our hearts are broken, but are so full of many treasured memories.

Surviving are: 5 children, Thomas (Debra) Hoose of Fenton, Stephen (Sheree) Hoose of Fenton, Beth (Stephen) Reynolds of Mayo, SC, David Hoose of Venice, FL, Joel (Paulette) Hoose of Fenton; 10 grandchildren, Tony (Samantha) Hoose, Cary Hoose, Matthew Hoose, Stephenie (Greg) Cornell, Laura Dale, Emily Pruitt, Danielle (Adam) Whitney, Zachary Dale, Tricia Monk, Tiffany Monk; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Bonnie Selby of Fenton, Shirley Lukey of Barrington, IL,  Janet Kendall of Milford, Joyce Gearhart of Fenton, and extended family, CJ and Charlie Callaghan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rev. Milton Hoose and parents, Wesley and Marie Brower
