Betty Jo HINKLE

HINKLE, Betty Jo -- Age 83, of Flint, died September 28, 2010 at her home. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Saturday, October 2 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 11 AM until the time of service Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association or the Eastern Star. Betty Jo was born February 9, 1927 in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of James Leonard and Annie (Higgins) Johnson. She married Charles F. Hinkle on April 21, 1946 in Elizabethton, TN. She was the Administrator at Swartz Creek Community Schools for the Indian Education Program. She had served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Genesee Indian Center. Surviving are: husband Charles; two children Ray and wife Susan Hinkle of East Grand Rapids, Penny Bennett of Flint; three grandchildren, Gretchen Hinkle, Nicole and husband Thomas Grimes, Joshua and wife Courtney Bennett; two great-grandchildren, Natilee and Alexis; sister Edna Arnett of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews.
