HATFIELD, Betty Jean - Age 72, of Fenton, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, October 2, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor Chuck Hubbard will officiate. Burial will take place following a luncheon in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 6-8PM Saturday, 12-4 and 6-8PM Sunday, and 10AM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Betty J. Hatfield Memorial Fund. Mrs. Hatfield was born June 16, 1934 in Flint the daughter of Russell and Dorothy Gage. She married Clifford N. Hatfield June 30, 1955 in Flint and he preceded her in death April 1, 1995. She graduated from Beecher High School in 1953 and had been a resident of Fenton since 1973. She was a member of Fenton Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Hatfield had been a foster mother to many children throughout the years. Surviving are 3 daughters, Christine Hatfield of Fenton, Rebecca and husband Tom Varney of Gaines, Wendy and husband Kenneth Kelso of Mt. Morris; former son-in-law, Jim Gregory; 6 grandchildren, Shawna-Marie, Jacob, Brianmichael, Kody, Lindsey and Kyle; great-grandchild, Ryliegh; 3 sisters, Mildred Cusenza of Clio, Marion Hollar of Flint, Janet and husband Gene Rodden of Clio; brother, Charles and wife Shirley Gage of Flushing; many nieces, nephews and special daughters, Kelli and Sally.
