Betty Haering

HAERING, Betty Jane - age 92, of Flint, died February 25, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint with Rev. Paul Ytterock officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 10 AM - 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the music program at First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Betty was born November 4, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Howard Hill and Alma Lenhart (Cale) Kuhns. She married Rev. Emil Edward Haering III on December 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2010. Betty received a Bachelor's degree in piano and a Master's degree in Elementary Education. She was a teacher at Bentley Schools retiring in 1992. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. She loved music and traveling. She was a loving wife and mother. Surviving are: four children, Ken Haering of Roscommon, Barb Melone of Burton, Linda Haering of Burton and Rich Haering of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Andrew Melone, Richard Melone and Kristin (Tim) Blake; four great-grandchildren, Solomon Blake, Adrienne, Emily, and Isaac Melone.
