Betty Louise GLASS

GLASS, Betty Louise -- Age 86, of Flint, died January 26, 2011. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, January 31, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Rev. Robert D. Wright officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, and 10-11 AM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Home and Hospice Advantage, 1309 S. Linden Rd. #B., Flint, MI 48532. Betty was born February 8, 1924, the daughter of Bert O. and Cora M. (Miller) Saur in Sparta MI. She married Eugene E. Glass on May 18, 1946 in Sparta. She worked for Flint Public Schools for 20 years at Zimmerman Junior High. She was a talented artist and piano player and enjoyed crafts and camping with family. Betty was an active member of Court Street United Methodist Church and made many friends in 25 years of wintering in Florida. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Gene; two children and spouses, Suzanne Uptigrove (Ken) of Owosso, Gary Glass (Arlouine) of Gaines; three grandchildren and spouses, Chad Uptigrove (Amy) of Muskegon, Jennifer Metevier (Paul) of Wyoming and Kathy VanderBee (Brian) of Kentwood and five great-grandchildren.
