Betty Carlson

CARLSON, Betty Mac - Age 85, of Fenton, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at her residence. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton with Rev. Jeremy Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Monday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where an O.E.S. memorial service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Fenton United Methodist Church. Ms. Carlson was born August 23, 1929 in Lorain, OH, the daughter of Kenneth and Juanita Marie (McFadden) Jameyson. She was a graduate of Flushing High School and University of Michigan - Flint Dental Hygienist Program in 1953. She was certified in Nursing Home Administration in 1968 at Michigan State University. She was the owner and administrator of Elder House Assisted Living (formerly Fenton Convalescent Home) from 1973-1999. Ms. Carlson was a member of Fenton Chapter #248 O.E.S. and was Past Worthy Matron from 1967-1968. She was the organist for Genesee County O.E.S. in 1989 and Grand Organist for Grand Chapter O.E.S. of Michigan in 2003-2004. She served at the Secretary for Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce for several years and received the First Enterprise Award in 1994. She was the past president of Michigan Chapter of American College of Health Care Administrators. She was appointed by Governor Milliken to the Health Care Planning Board and twice appointed by Governor Engler to the State Licensing Board of Nursing Home Administrator as well as many other achievements and accomplishments in the Fenton Community. Surviving are: son, Kris Carlson of Fenton; granddaughter, Brittany Marie and husband, Ryan Pasco; great-granddaughter, Ellie; great-grandson, Kipton; sister-in-law, Grace Jameyson of Fenton.
