BACKHAUT, Betty Lou -- Age 78, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be 11 AM Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Machpelah Cemetery Chapel, Flint, Burial will follow. Rabbi Karen Companez officiating. Betty was born March 7, 1928 in Flint the daughter of Isadore and Anna (Weinberg) Himelhoch. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel. She worked part-time with Leon, her husband, at Lee Systems. Mrs. Backhaut is survived by: husband, Leon; two sons, Jerome of Florida, David and wife Signe of Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Rachel and Adam, of Wisconsin; brother Ted Himelhoch and wife Patricia. She was preceded in death by her parents.
