HOWARTH, Beth Elaine - Age 74, of Gaines, died Sunday, February 13, 2011. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Flint Institute of Arts Clay Department. Beth was born March 2, 1936 in Ord, Nebraska, the daughter of Leon and Eva (Miska) Woods. She earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Nebraska and Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University. Beth was a teacher for Linden Community Schools for 28 years, retiring in 1993. Surviving are: brothers, Ross and wife Sherry Woods of Kearney, NE, Ronald Woods of Broken Bow, NE; nieces and nephews, Debbie (Cory) Christens, Ted (Nancy) Woods; friends, Jeannie Canoy, Julie and Dean Dupei.
