HAYWOOD, Bertha Mae (wife of the former Pastor John Wesley Haywood) -Age 99, of Taeckins Terrace Senior Living in Davison, died Sunday, August 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Linden Free Methodist Church, 13274 S. Linden Road, Linden. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 5-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army. Mrs. Haywood was born February 14, 1912 in Fenton, the daughter of Albert F.W. and Edna L. (Kinne) Mehlberg. She married John Wesley Haywood June 22, 1933 in Fenton and he preceded her in death August 12, 1982. She has resided in Davison since 2003 coming from Brighton and Linden. Mrs. Haywood was a member of the Davison Free Methodist Church and a former member of Green Oak Free Methodist Church in Brighton. Surviving are: 2 sons, Paul M. Haywood of Tujunga, CA and Donald and wife Helen Haywood of Davison; daughter-in-law, Marcia K. Haywood of Jackson; "Adopted" daughter, Marlene Hardesry of Brighton; 9 grandchildren, Marsha (Carl) Conley, John (Kim) Haywood II, Kristin (Gary) Harrington, James (Virginia) Haywood, Maya Haywood, Kara (Will) Tinnin, Deborah (George) Fetzer, Corina Haywood and Peter Haywood; 6 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and special friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, John W. Haywood, Jr.; great grandson, Nathan Conley; sister, Ethelyn Close.
