Bernice Porter

PORTER, Bernice Viola - age 91, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at her residence. Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Immediately following the graveside services the family will have a luncheon at Swartz Creek VFW Post 3720, 3131 S. Elms Rd., Swartz Creek. Mrs. Porter was born September 22, 1923 in Flint, the daughter of Thomas and Esther (Curtis) Anders. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School and married Lamar Monroe Porter in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Porter was a member of the VFW Post 3720 Auxiliary. Surviving are: son, Charles Arthur Lindquist and wife, Joyce of Curtis, MI; daughter, Linda Diane Gilmore of Swartz Creek; seven grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Mathers, Anthony Barry, Benjamin Barry, Michelle Barry, Terry Lindquist Maree Lindquist and Sherry Lindquist; special great-granddaughters, Sabrina Brown and Cheyenne Mathers who were always there for grandma Porter; several other great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive.
