SMIAROWSKI, Bernard Frank - Age 87, of Linden, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Rockwell Memory Impaired. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday, September 20, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Monday from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 8:00 PM Sunday followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Smiarowski was born September 16, 1922 in Rossford, OH, the son of Mikolay "Michael" and Leocadia "Louise" (Goniszewska) Smiarowski. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married Juna Grace Wood October 20, 1943 in Pratt, KS and she preceded him in death March 15, 2010. Mr. Smiarowski retired from AC Spark Plug after 45 years of service as a Tool Maker. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he served as an usher, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Fenton Council #7418, 4th degree member of Assembly #2031 where he enjoyed cutting wood and he volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul. Surviving are: 4 children, Steve Smiarowski of Grand Blanc, Pat Smiarowski (Kathy) of Watervliet, Mary Virgin (Jeff) of Fenton and Jeanne Comparet (Tom) of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Melodye Orblych of Linden; 12 grandchildren, Andy (Julie); Katie, Matt, Greg, Michelle and their mother Helene; P.J. (Ronya), Jenny (Joe); Jessica (Sean), Joel, Kristen; Krystal, Danielle (Brian); 8 great grandchildren, Taylor, Joey, Zaine, Nicolas, Jaiden, Jozlynn, Corgan and Kaylynn; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Smiarowski; his parents; 5 sisters, Frances Tolinski, Rose Wolschon, Helen Postemski, Sophie Stoklas and Marie Davis.
