Bernard Sinclair

April 23, 1929 — January 25, 2016

SINCLAIR, Bernard C. - age 86 - died January 25, 2016. Funeral services to be announced by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. He married Carol Jones on July 29, 1950. He attended Fenton High School and was on the winning football team in the 40's. He also played trumpet in the band. The school was so small in those days that Bernie and Rick Rockman, to name a few, would play their trumpets in the band at half time then run back to the field to play football. He Joined the U.S. Army and was the bugler. He was very proud that he was able to join the U.S Army Marching Band, where he played the French horn in Washington when Harry Truman was elected President. While attending U of M Flint he met and married Carol. He liked the construction business and within a few years he was a partner and Vice President of Erickson and Lindstrom Construction Co. where they did most of General Motors' work. He loved the game of golf like all true Scotsmen. As a long time member of Spring Meadows Country Club he had been very active. The membership thanked him with a " Bernard Sinclair Day " and later the board of directors in recognition of his services granted him an Honorary Membership. The course at the Playboy Club in WI was one of his favorite places to golf. He met and golfed with many celebrities and he told some funny and interesting stories. In his last days he talked about his buddies that he had so much fun with, golfing, playing cards with or just sitting around having a drink or two talking. Best of all, he was always proud of his sons, who he said could do just about anything, he said he hated to admit it, but they did better then he. Survived by loving wife, Carol; son, Don and wife Monica Sinclair of MI; granddaughter, Kelley Gillhouse and husband Jay; great-granddaughter, Stella of Polson, MN; Son, Jim and wife Kay Sinclair; grandsons, Stuart Sinclair and Leeland and wife Sarah Sinclair; great-grandson Jackson all of Parker, CO. We wish to thank all our very wonderful friends from Fenton and Linden and some of the most caring people in the world from Lakeside Ranch for all their love and prayers. The nurses who were the best. Thank you all. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
