Bernard Mcleod, Sr.

McLEOD, Bernard L., Sr. - Age 85, of Holly, died Friday, May 1, 2015. Services will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army. Bernard was born March 2, 1930 in West Branch Township the son of Homer and Mabel (Dorland) McLeod. He was a 1949 graduate of Lake City High School. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Bernard married Julie A. Westerby March 6, 1975 in Flint. He had been employed by Salem Lincoln Mercury in Flint for 25 years; he retired from Genesys Convalescent Center as maintenance supervisor. Bernard enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing cards (especially Euchre), and going to the casino, but most of all, he loved his family. His favorite saying was "two wrongs don't make a right". Surviving are: his wife, Julie; 9 children, Lynda (Mike) Jones of Linden, Patti Bobo of Linden, Rick (Valerie) McLeod of Linden, Teresa McLeod of Ft. Myers, FL, Bernard L. (Kristen) McLeod, Jr of Tustin, Douglas (Lori) McLeod of Grand Blanc, Michelle (Mike) Dufresne of Ortonville, Chad (Jan) McLeod of Burton, and Nicholas (Shelly) McLeod of Ortonville; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Sharon) McLeod of Lake City; sisters, Betty Wagner of Merritt and Donna (Jim) Kearns of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Delona Kaye; brothers, Mac and Sonny McLeod; sister, Bernice Vanderlaun; daughter-in-law, Paula McLeod; son-in-law, David Karnowski.
