Bernadine Townsend

TOWNSEND, Bernadine (Bernie) Regina - age 93, of Fenton, died Thursday, August 2, 2018. Bernadine was born August 31, 1924 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Bernard and Anna (Brazil) O'Hern. She graduated from St Matthew's High School in Flint and then attended business college in Chicago Il. She hired in to "The Buick" in Flint and later retired from the Traffic Department at GM Parts or Otterburn as it was called at the time. Surviving are: son, Thomas Townsend and wife, DeAnn of Fenton; two grandchildren, Taylor of Chicago, IL and Tyler of Fenton. She also leaves two long time friends, Dorothy and Betty. Bernie had many loyal dog companions through the years both big and small, purebred and mutt including the last two Tootsie and Tootsie (formerly known as Phoebe). She was especially proud of her Irish heritage. Bernie enjoyed summers at her cottage near Grindstone City with her many up north friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff in Monet at Caretel Inns of Linden.
