Benjamin Shannon

SHANNON, Benjamin A.S - Age 88 of Kalamazoo, passed away March 21, 2021. Services will be held on 12:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden. (A live stream of the service may be viewed on Benjamin's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.) Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, or American Cancer Association.

Benjamin was born June 1, 1933 in Hillhed, Glasgow, Scotland, the son of William Joseph and Charlotte Badenoch (Scott) Shannon. He married Mary "May" MacDonald June 11, 1966 and she preceded him in death March 19, 1995. He had resided in Portage for the past 5 years, coming from Lake Shannon, Fenton, MI. Benjamin retired from Ford Motor Company after 34 years of service as a Research Engineer; he then owned and operated TwinSpin Engine Consultants, LLC.

Surviving are: his son, Scott (Maria) Shannon of Plymouth, IN; daughter, Lynn (Barry) Kay of Scotland; grandchildren, Victoria Shannon, Devin Shannon, Shay Shannon, Catherine "Katy" Kay, Victoria Wilson, David Kay, and Samantha Kay; great grandchildren, Maxine, Conlin, Roman, Remy, Leah, Lucy, and Innes; great-great grandchild, Cassie.
