MEYER, Benjamin, age 84, of Fenton, formerly of Bay City, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at home. Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Rd., Fenton. Pastor James H. Mascow officiating. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held Friday 2-9PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and 11AM Saturday until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church or a charity of ones choice. Benjamin was born June 12, 1921 in Greeley, Colorado the son of Jacob and Eva Elizabeth (Flohr) Meyer. He graduated in 1940 from Bay City Central High School, and in 1944 from General Motors Institute in Flint. Benjamin married Gertrude E. Eichinger on November 16, 1946 in Bay City. He retired from Ford in 1980 after 24 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Benjamin was a faithful man, who dearly loved his wife, and family. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Gertrude; 5 children, Elizabeth and husband John Anstedt of Weston, FL, Patricia and husband Earl Richards of Fowlerville, John and wife Sylvia Meyer of Houghton Lake, Andrew and wife Betsy Meyer of Howell, Benjamin L. and wife Carole Meyer of Brighton; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, John and wife Marian Meyer of Essexville, Soloman Meyer of Petosky; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 siblings, Lydia, Jacob, Emmanuel, Mary, Edward, Paul, Samuel and Ruth.
