Benjamin L. HARTLEY

HARTLEY, Benjamin L. - age 70, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday, July 23, 2011 with the assistance of Heartland Hospice. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Monday, July 25, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Russell Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM - 3 PM Monday. Mr. Hartley was born September 22, 1940 in Indiana, the son of George and Eloise (Jenkins) Hartley. He married Victoria Crain on December 21, 1985. He has resided in Durand since 1984. Mr. Hartley retired from GM after 37 years.. He was a member of the Durand Moose Lodge, Durand Eagles Club and the VFW. He was a golfer, hunter and pool player and loved all sports. Surviving are: wife, Victoria of Durand; four children, Pamela (Rick) Moffit of TN, Patricia (Randy) Tobias of Owosso, Benjamin Hartley, Jr. of TN, Aaron (Heather) Crain of Durand; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Hartley of Troy; former wife and good friend, Gloria Jean Hartley of TN.
