GATES, Benjamin Scott - Age 48, of Flushing, passed away March 12, 2022. Funeral Service will be held 12 noon Friday, March 18, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 10 am until the time of Service Friday. Ben was born April 7, 1973 in Flint, MI to Cathy Jean Gates. He married Sylvia Renee Martinez on October 22, 2005 and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2017. Ben was a driver for FedEx for 12 years. Surviving are: his children, Kailyn (Zach Olderman) Gates, Savonna Ortiz, Beyonce Gates, Ayngel Gates, Amirra Gates, & Brennan Gates; mother-in-law, Donna Martinez; sister & brother in-laws, Lilian (Steven) Mays, Mario Martinez, Jacob (Beanna) Martinez, Monica (Michael) Malloy, & Sonya Martinez; his adored four legged companions Oreo, Cleo, & Coco; and many nieces, nephews, & friends.
