Beatrice Lucille McManus

MCMANUS, Beatrice Lucille - age 76, of Hartland, died Sunday, August 13, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy, Howell. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Hartland United Methodist Church, 10300 Maple Rd., Hartland with Pastor Fred Finzer officiating. Interment will be held at Hartland Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Monday and 2-6 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartland United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Hartland Senior Center. Mrs. McManus was born November 16, 1929 in Jenison, MI, the daughter of John J. and Tilda (Bomers) Piers. She was a 1948 graduate of Grandville High School and a 1958 graduate of Michigan State University and taught in Borculo, Lansing and Hartland Schools for several years. She married Jack McManus on August 10, 1956 in Jenison. She was a member of the Hartland United Methodist Choir, the Milford Musicals, the Senior Center Choir and the Sage Players. Mrs. McManus was acting Clerk of Hartland Township for 14 years. Surviving are: husband, Jack of Hartland; three daughters, Kathy (Tim) Howell of GA, Karen (John) Wizgird of Milan, Kay (Walker) Rochlitz of Midland; three grandchildren, Patrick Shanahan, Megan Rochlitz and Matthew Wizgird; two sisters, Thelma Veneklasen of Holland, Virginia Timmer of Jenison; brother, Eugene (Marian) Piers of Jenison; many nieces and nephews.
