Barry Thomas Haney

HANEY, Barry Thomas - Age 76, of Grand Blanc, passed away December 27. Barry was born March 16, 1948 in Pontiac, the son of Robert and June (Packard) Haney, the first of 4 children. He married loving wife Diane on August 24, 1971 in Dearborn Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife Diane and daughter Elizabeth. Later, Barry married his loving 2nd wife, Debi on September 28, 2013. Barry was blessed to be the father of two children, Dylan and Elizabeth, for whom he will forever be remembered as a loving, supportive, and devoted father who shaped their lives with wisdom, kindness, and humor. He also loved being a papa, providing endless love, patience, and joy, leaving a legacy of warmth and devotion. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a teacher and leader.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Debi; brother, Craig (& Jill) Haney; son, Dylan (& Kristy) Haney; son-in-law, Greg Smith; and stepchildren Clifford (& Sarah) Lewis; Nikki (& Matthew) Fogg; Valerie (& Bill) Budds; Tracy (& Lincoln) Puffer; and Chad (& Danielle) Lewis. He was the papa to 17 adored grandchildren.

Barry’s love and kindness not only filled his children and grandchildren’s lives, but also the children and grandchildren who came into his life with Debi. He was known for making everyone feel cherished, his warmth touched countless lives. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 3, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4285 McCandlish Road, Grand Blanc. Bishop Jeff Schaub officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. 

Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
