Barbara Ann THIESE

THIESE, Barbara Ann, age 70, of Flint Twp., passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth St., Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant.The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. Friday until time of Mass at the church. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Donations may be made to St. Jude's or St. Pius X Catholic Church. Barbara was born October 15, 1940 in Gary, West Virginia the daughter of the late John and Mary (Popovich) Hamro. She was a 1958 graduate of St. Agnes High School, Flint. On September 30, 1960 Barbara married David Thiese at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, David; 4 children, Lynne Reynolds (Alex Pantoja) of Flint Twp, David Thiese Jr. of Flint Twp., Douglas Thiese of New York, Beth McCardel (Steve) of Traverse City; 3 grandchildren, Rachel Reynolds (Jack Brady), Sydney and Ally McCardel; 2 sisters, Carmen Gergely of South Bend, IN, Mary Jane Williamson of Charleston, WV; brother, Ernest "Butch" Hamro (Becky) of Princeton, WV; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Hamro and brother-in-law Bill Gergely. Special thanks to Dr. Mischa Pollard for her loving care.
