Barbara North

NORTH, Barbara Lee, age 75, of Fenton, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 13, 2007. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM Thursday, August 16, 2007 at The Freedom Center, 2473 W. Shiawassee Ave., Fenton. Pastor Jim Weigand and Pastor Virgil Long officiating. The family will receive friends 10:30AM until time of service at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Freedom Center or River of God Tabernacle.  Barbara was born September 1, 1931 the daughter of Paul Edward and Marjorie H. (MacFarland) Petty. She married Allen Edward North on September 1, 1951 in Fenton and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2004. In her youth, Barbara was a cashier at Harry Lemen's General Store. She graduated from Fenton High School in 1949 where she was also Homecoming Queen. Barbara had attended Comptroller School and was employed for 4 years at Fisher Body in Grand Blanc in the business office. She was a loving mother and wonderful homemaker, and  who enjoyed cooking and entertaining others in her home. Barbara was a friend to all, volunteering whenever she could to make sure the needs of other were met. She was a member of the Freedom Center and attended River of God Tabernacle.  Surviving are her 6 children, Tom North (Dianne) of Fenton, Terry-Lynn Ogle (Jim) of Fenton, Tim North of Fenton, Tina Jolly (Dave) of Petosky, Tony North of Bradenton, FL, Tammy Meek(Randy) of Howell; 11 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 3 step-grandsons; 3 step-granddaughters; 2 step-great-granddaughters;3step-great-grandsons; brother, Paul Petty (Jeanne) of Davison; 2 nieces; 1 nephew and good friend Vince Harrison.
