Barbara Ellen Mills

MILLS, Barbara Ellen - Age 75, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 22 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 8497 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek . Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church or Avalon Hospice. Mrs. Mills was born May 7, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Lynn Francis and Flora Mae (Davis) Warren. She was married to Russell Mills on October 16, 1954, and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2000. Mrs. Mills had worked for Hudson's for 15 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and active with the choir and altar guild. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and gardening, and she was a wonderful cook. She is survived by her two children, Vicky and husband Steve Hoisington of Fenton, Ralph and wife Becky Mills of Flint; grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Mills, Kristina Hoisington; brothers, John and wife Barb Warren of Tennessee, Leland Warren of East Tawas; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Jean Egerer and Helen Hanthorn; sister-in-law, Barb Warren; brother-in-law, Karl Hanthorn.
