McCormick, Barbara J. - Age 93, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday; and 11 AM - ! PM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the South Mundy United Methodist Church. Barbara was born June 10, 1924 in Flint, the daughter of Charles and Blanche (Hubble) Sargent. She was a 1942 graduate of Flint Central High School. Barbara married Charles O. McCormick March 30, 1946 in Flint and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2009. She was a secretary for Michigan School for the Deaf, then Linden Community Schools where she retired. Barbara was a long time member of South Mundy United Methodist Church where she served as trustee and was also very active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Stepping Stone club; Iota Lambda Chapter of Pi Omicron National Chapter; and charter member of American Business Women Association. Barbara enjoyed Decoupage. Surviving are: daughter, Cheryl (Arnold) Berry; son, Charles A. (Michele) McCormick; 6 grandchildren, Trisha Curtis, Jeremy McCormick, Justin (Alison) McCormick, James (Lauren) McCormick, Leah (Jason) McCollum, Marcus Fick; 7 great-grandchildren, Takoma, Paige, Kirstie, Riley, Emmett, Aubrie, Gabby; and several special nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcia Fick; granddaughter, Maisie Curtis; siblings, Thelma, Peggie, and Jack.
