Barbara Saylor was born on July 8, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Edward and Irene Zwolensky. As the eldest sister of four children, Barbara's nurturing and caring personality came naturally. She worked as a registered nurse at McLaren Hospital in the third shift emergency room until her retirement. Her calming voice and graceful demeanor made her a favorite among patients and colleagues. Her timeless beauty and kind spirit drew people to her. On January 28th, 1961, she married her best friend and love of her life, Gordon Saylor. Together, they had four wonderful children, whom they loved and cherished deeply. They spent many of their children's younger years traveling and camping all over the United States, visiting National Parks. Gordon and Barbara shared 61 beautiful and adventurous years of marriage together. One of Barbara's greatest passions was music, particularly classical music. She loved playing on her grand piano and sharing her passion for music with her family. Her love of music was infectious and inspired her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom are talented musicians today. Barbara's love for her family was evident in the special bond she shared with her great grandchildren whom she adored. She would often spend time with them reading children's books, and her gentle voice and warm hugs made them feel loved and safe. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Barbara is survived by her four children, Greg (Richard) Saylor, Paul (Dawna) Saylor, Mike Saylor, and Connie (Jeff) Steffon, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her siblings Edward (Jean) Zwolensky, Nadine (Rod) Scowden, Brenda (Randy) Tuttle, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gordon Saylor. Their love story continues even in death, as they are now reunited in each other's arms. Barbara will always be remembered for her kind spirit, gentle soul, and the love she had for her family and music. May she rest in peace and be forever cherished as a beautiful memory by all who knew her.
