HAYES, Barbara G - of Fenton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 30, 2019, at age 97. She was born September 17, 1922, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Harry G. and Alice (Wiard) Gault. She graduated from Flint Central in 1940, attended both Smith College and University of Michigan. Barbara lived in the Flint area most of her life before moving to Fenton 13 years ago. Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public service. She was active as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, the YWCA, member and past president of the Junior League of Flint, McFarland Home, Whaley Historical House and the Twentieth Century Club. Barbara’s love of beautiful things was evident in her stylish wardrobe, her lovely home, gardens and overall impeccable taste. She enjoyed working at Gloria’s Fine Stationery & Gifts in Flint for over 20 years retiring at age 82. GG was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother and a caring friend to many. She was a viable source for ‘old Genesee County’ history and stories to the end of her life. She was an avid sports fan who especially loved U of M football. Surviving are her two children: Arthur Matthew Buder, Jr. (Charlene Musick) of Denver, CO and Susan Yeotis (Art) of Fenton; three grandchildren: John Reynolds, Boulder, CO, Ann Turner Podlesak (Patrick Gysel) and Matthew A. Turner both of Fenton; five great-grandchildren: Jordan (Michael) Aurino, Taylor Ovadek, Channer Podlesak and Lydia Podlesak, and Alex Reynolds; one great-great grandchild: Marielle Aurino; her brother James L. Gault (Margaret) of Greenbrae, CA; step-sister, Marilyn Brumback of Fenton; four stepchildren: William P. Hayes, Anne Marie Cibulak, Eileen Truckle, and John Hayes and their families of Toronto, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William J. Hayes. Special thanks to Debra A.
