Barbara "BJ" J. Goulish

Barbara Jeanne “BJ" Goulish, age 96, of Flint, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. A private graveside service will take place for her family. BJ will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Joseph, at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, Michigan. BJ was born on October 30, 1928, in Bay City, Michigan to the late George & Marguerite MacPherson. She graduated from Flint Central High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. In 1961, she married Joseph Nicholas Goulish in Flint, Michigan. Joseph preceded her in death in 1987. Before retiring, BJ served as the Township Clerk in Holly, Mi and was actively involved in local politics. 

A lover of the arts, BJ volunteered as a docent at the Flint Institute of Arts. She enjoyed knitting and needlepoint, creating beautiful sweaters, mittens, Christmas stockings, and artwork for family and friends. BJ was an avid reader and had an extensive book collection. Her favorite authors being James Patterson and Nora Roberts. Above all she cherished her three grandchildren and great-grandchildren, proudly sharing their photos with everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving son, Gibbon (Kelley) Goulish; grandchildren, Erik (Brittni) Goulish, Whitney (Brett Herman) Goulish and Morgan (Wesley) Fisher and her three great-grandchildren, Brake Goulish, Ada Fisher and Abigail Fisher. She is also lovingly remembered by Jennifer and Logan Smith and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph and her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and William Schindler. 

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Rose Haven Manor; Judy, Anthony, and “Fancy pants” and the entire staff at Tranquility House AFC for the phenomenal care that she received from all!
