Barbara Joyce Clary

CLARY, Barbara Joyce - age 92, of Swartz Creek, died June 2, 2024. A memorial gathering will be held 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Inurnment of her cremated remains will follow at 2:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Mrs. Clary was born December 4, 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Douglas and Sarah (Tinney) Buttone and was a graduate of South High School in Grand Rapids. She married Delvis Clary on June 30, 1956 and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2016. Mrs. Clary was a graduate of Michigan State University. She was a Special Education teacher in Beecher Community School District for 26 years. She was a member of the NEA and BEA Teachers Associations, the Flushing Road Runners Square Dance Club and Carmen Ainsworth Senior Center. Surviving are: daughter, Lisa (Whit) Leverett; son, Kevin (Kelly) Clary; grandchildren, Eric Sontag, Tyler Sontag, Heather Bullion, Kayla Clary, Jackie Wasson, and Jason Leverett; great-grandchildren, Addison, Adam, Henry, Bodhi, and Vida; sister, Dorace Bethkel.
