Barbara Church

CHURCH, Barbara Kay - Age 77, of Linden, Michigan passed away peacefully with her family while on vacation at sea. Barbara was born September 14, 1942 in Mooresville, NC the daughter of James E.Mills and Mabel P. (Payne) Mills. She graduated from Flint Beecher High School in 1960. She raised two boys and then married her second husband and love of her life, Richard “Dick” Church on November 29th 1980 and merged their big family of eight in the Fenton and Linden area. She worked for General Motors from 1975 until 1997 when she retired. Barb and Dick spent 22 years enjoying traveling, golf, their children and grandchildren on Squaw Lake and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Barb was very active in her sorority (Sigma Phi Gamma), the Fenton Moose Club and various golf leagues in Michigan and Florida. She was a lover of “ Taco Tuesday“ at the Fireplace, the lake, boating and travel. Her favorite times were sitting on the deck during happy hour with friends and family. Barb was a very kind and generous soul with a contagious laugh and big smile. She always welcomed new friends and family and they all enjoyed her “Barbisms”... “ Eat your beets they will make you pretty!” She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Church, parents Mabel and James Mills, sister Sherry LaVigne and grandson Jacob Jarman.
She was survived by her children Bryan (Kathleen) Jarman of Greenwood Village, CO,  Brent Jarman of Columbia TN, Scott (Anne) Church of Port Deposit, MD, Richard (Lynne) Church of Traverse City, MI , Krista (Steve) Ragotzy of Kalamazoo, MI. Ten grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.The family welcomes friends to visitation on Thursday February 27th from 2pm-7pm and funeral service Friday February 28th at 10:00am at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 West Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430.
