Barbara Carlton

CARLTON, Barbara Marie (Loewen) Age 83, of Flint Township, died March 12, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Road, Flint. Pastor Todd Meece officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 12PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and again 10AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family. Marie was born in Detroit on October 21, 1932 the daughter of Peter and Irene (Judge) Loewen. She married Elwyn C. Carlton on December 29, 1951. He preceded her in death after 59 years of marriage on January 19, 2011. She graduated from Bendle High School, and worked for Schlegals business administration for accounting and income tax. She opened up Marie's New and Used Shop, on Corunna Road in Flint. She was a member of North Baptist Church, as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a organist and pianist for Trinity Baptist Church Flushing for over 20 years. She is survived by her children, Diane (Dan) Crane of Flint, Renee (David) Juhl of Fenton; daughter-in-law, Jeraline "Jeri" Carlton of Flint Township; grandchildren; Peter (Becky) Crane, Tracy Carlton, Scott Crane, Leighann (Jaft) Sammons, Timothy (Dana) Crane, Holly Carlton, "Buddy" Douglas Carlton II, Bradley Crane, Jamie Juhl, Mitchell Juhl; great grandchildren; Lauryn, Ethan, Max, Marin; sisters, Sharon (Paul) Newcomb of Fostoria, Judy (Aaron) Snider of Davison; many nephews and nieces.
