BURROUGHS, Barbara Kay - Age 66, of Fenton, died Friday, February 11, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. Josh Hoover will officiate. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to Gift of Life or Genesee County Humane Society. Barbara was born August 21, 1944 in Flint, the daughter of Kenneth G. and Marion (Laird) Morrish. Mrs. Burroughs was a Kidney Transplant Advocate; she spent a lot of time counseling Dialysis and Transplant patients. She volunteered at FISH, Inc., delivering meals and visiting the elderly and homebound. Barbara was a member of the Junior League of Flint and Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. She served as a greeter at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Florida and as a reader at St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Fenton. Mrs. Burroughs was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren, birds, nature and was an avid reader. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Jonathan E. Burroughs II; sons, Jonathan E. Burroughs III and wife Tracy, Jeffrey M. Burroughs and fiancee Heather Emerson; grandchildren, Anthony and Samone Burroughs, Miranda Stewart, Jenna Emerson; father, Kenneth G. Morrish; sister-in-law, Ann S. Burroughs; nieces and nephew, Ginna Beckett, Mary Wisnom and Matthew Wisnom. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion Morrish: in-laws, James and Mary Helen Burroughs; grandson, Clayton J. Burroughs.
