Barbara Beers

BEERS, Barbara Joy -- Age 78, of Gaines, died April 11, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, April 17, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Grandson, Dennis Sutherby officiating. Visitation will take place from 1-4 and 6-9PM Thursday, and from 10AM until the time of service Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation. Barbara was born January 26, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Kazsas) Chizmadia in Flint. She graduated from Flint Beecher High in 1954, and work as a cook for 22 years at Willowbrook in Byron. Barbara married Clyde Beers on July 1, 1968 in Byron. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, helping her husband on the farm, and raising her children. Surviving are: husband, Clyde Beers; children, Charles (Theresa) Durham of Gaines, Sherry (William) Sutherby of Bancroft, Ruth (Larry) Hickens of Maryville, TN, Frank (Nancy) Durham of Gaines, Todd Durham of Knoxville, TN; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Helga Ort of Linden, sister Victoria Wall of Harrisburg, PA, sister-in-law Arlene Chizmadia of Fenton, along with several nieces and nephews.
