KEENE, B. Moschelle -- An exemplary role model--mom, grandmother, and great grandmother--passed away on April 16, 2010 after a short illness in Syracuse NY. Moschelle Keene was born in Linton, Indiana on October 29, 1918 to Cora Fern and Isaac Beasley. She moved with her parents to Flint Michigan and attended Northern High School. While in Michigan she met and married Paul W. Keene on Feb. 1, 1936 and had two children, Vel and Jerry. Moschelle was a woman of many talents: wood carving, knitting, sewing, and she was a whiz at jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She was also active in her church volunteering for many committees and working with children. Moschelle is known for her upbeat and lively personality, and her common sense guidance. She has been a role model for family and friends alike. Moschelle is predeceased by her son Jerry who succumbed to kidney failure and an unsuccessful kidney transplant when he was only 24 years old; Paul, her husband, who died Nov. 4, 1995 of Parkinsonï¿Â½(TM)s disease; and Rod Chesser, her son-in-law, who died of cancer in 2002. Survivors: her daughter, Vel Chesser of Cazenovia NY; her grandchildren, Nicole Shane (John) of Chittenango, NY and Andrea Lueker (Rich) of Los Osos CA; her great grand children Samantha and Elizabeth Shane of Chittenango NY and Catalina Hubbard of Los Osos CA; several nieces and nephews residing in MI. Graveside services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, May 8 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
