Awatif Chaaban

CHAABAN, Mrs. Awatif Jamil - Age 81, of Howell/ Brighton area, passed away, January 17, 2023. Private family services will take place at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Awatif's memory would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Awatif was born July 24, 1941 in Gharifeh, Lebanon, the daughter of Jamil and Jamal Hamady. She married Adel Malik Chaaban January, 1961. Awatif was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many. She passed away surrounded by her loving family in Michigan. She will be greatly missed.

Awatif is survived by: her husband, Adel; children, Joumana Chaaban, Eddie and his wife Maggie Chaaban, Ziad and his wife Hiam Chaaban, Suzan and her husband Hassan Al Ruwaily, and Sophia Hutton; 8 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Adel and his wife Leyla Hamady, Dr. Fakhri and his wife Najwa Hamady, and Frank Hamady; sister, Mahida and her husband Said  Abu Hadier; several nieces and nephews.

Awatif was preceded in death by: her parents; her daughter, Zalfa; grandson, Salman; son-in-law, Shaheen El Ayache. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
