Ava Norman

Norman, Ava Lorene - Age 88, of Flint, died October 19, 2017. Memorial service will be held 3PM Monday, October 23 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint. Visitation will be held 1:30PM until the time of service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Whaley Historical House Museum for the houses restoration from their 2015 fire. Ava was born December 9, 1928 in Rockwood, Mi., the daughter of Fay and Bonnie (McLellan) Lamb. She married the love of her life Leo James on October 18, 1947 in Carelton, Mi. Ava was an expert quilter, seamstress, gardener, and cook. Ava loved square dancing and traveling extensively with Leo upon his retirement. Her deepest passion other then her family was antiques and historical homes which led her to the Whaley Historical House Museum. She volunteered many hours and served as President of the Whaley Historical Society from 1984-1988. Ava is survived by her husband Leo James Norman; son, David and his wife Nancy of Saginaw, son-in-law, Richard Sabraw of Harrison, son, Jeffrey Norman and his wife Denise of Grand Rapids, daughter, Jennifer (Norman) Trovillion and her husband Bret of Flint; 7 grandsons, Matt, Richard, Aaron, Christopher, Jacob, Colby and Colin; 3 granddaughters, Amanda, Jordan, and Jessica; numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Glenda, Vera, Pat; as well as brother Roger. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine (Norman) Sabraw; sister, Sandra (Lamb) Kahn; brother, Rod Lamb.
