Austin Acord

ACORD, Austin Elmer Lee - Age 88, of Riverside California, formerly of Davison and Durand, died Monday, July 18, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, July 22, at Sharp Funeral Homes 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Interment to follow at North Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Thursday. Austin was born November 11, 1927 in Poplar Bluff Missouri, the son of Emery L. and Calista (Grimes) Acord. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 599, worked for Buick City for thirty four years. Austin was an avid golfer, loved guitar playing and the harmonica. Surviving are his five children, Robert Acord, Emery Acord, Timothy (LuAnn) Acord, Rebekah Acord, Harold Acord; nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and one great great grandson; brother- in- law, Andrew Turner; sister- in- law Susan Bencheck; special thanks to his caregiver Selza Ortega. Austin was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Avis; in 1989 and Cathleen in 2006, two children, Theresa Acord; and Anthony Turner.
