Audrey Geraldine Glowney

GLOWNEY, Audrey Geraldine, age 87, of Flint, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at home. Visitation will be held 2-9PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Private interment will be Monday at Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. Audrey was born January 15, 1919 in Gratiot County, MI, the daughter of Ervan and Blanche (Wilkins) Kennett. She married Wilbur Richard Glowney on October 24, 1937 in Holt and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1994. Audrey was a teacher with the Flint Public Schools for 19 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Flint, and the McLaren Auxilary. Audrey enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge. She is survived by 3 children, Sheila Keen (Dewey) of Swartz Creek, Wilbur (Bill) Glowney (Carmen) of Grand Blanc, Wendy Wolverton (Dan) of Fenton; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Gooding (John) of Commerce Township; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Karen Williams; sisters, Helen Rayburn, Lucille Dilsworth, Doris Johnson.
